it's history is an important part of the former Rio de Janeiro state football

[1] Champions by different leagues.
[2] Beggining of the professional era of the Liga Campista de Desportos.
[3] In 1956 FFD organized the Divisão Departamental de Profissionais (DDP), dividing
the state in professional zones. The professional championship of Campos represented
also the championship of the 5ª Zona (Zona Norte-fluminense).
[4] In 1963 FFD reorganized the zones; Campos league alone became the 6ª Zona (Zona
Campista)
[5] In these years as 6ª Zona was the only zone on the state championship their
champions were also state champions.
[6] In 1968 Campos City Championship was replaced by the Taça Cidade de Campos as
representative of 6ª Zona.
[7] In 1976 Campos City Championship again represented the 6ª Zona; Americano and
Goytacaz did not play the city championship this year because of their invitation to
compete on the Federação Carioca de Futebol championship.
[8] Goytacaz and Americano returned to the city championship, however, they did not
decide the championship due to their participation on Federação Carioca de Futebol
championship, Liga Campista de Desportos declared both as champions.
